How Long Should You Wait to Swim After Shocking a Pool?
We tell our clients to wait at least 24 hours after shocking a swimming pool before swimming. However, there’s more to do than wait. We’ll also test the water to ensure the chlorine levels have returned to a safe range of 1 to 3 ppm (parts per million).
How Often Should You Get Pool Acid Wash Treatments?
While acid washing can dramatically reduce stains and remove spots from a pool’s surface, it can also shorten the lifespan of plaster finishes. The commonly used chemical for this process is quite powerful. Depending on the surface, misuse or over-application can also lead to pool corrosion, so it’s essential to avoid acid washing too frequently.
Your pool should only require an acid wash every 5-7 years, depending on the material and usage. This process needs to be done carefully, so you should always rely on one of our pool contractors to apply the acid.
